Refund Policy
Last updated 7 September 2026
Tidemarks has one paid plan: US$20 a year, billed annually. This page says what happens when you want that money back.
Fourteen days, no questions
Within 14 days of a payment, write to contact@tidemarks.io and ask for it back. We will not ask why. The refund is issued through Paddle to the payment method you used, and your subscription is cancelled at the same time.
The 14 days run from the date of the payment, which means a renewal has its own 14 days — you are not held to a decision you made a year earlier.
After fourteen days
We do not refund a part-used year. You can cancel at any time from Paddle’s customer portal; cancelling stops the next renewal and leaves the year you have paid for running until it ends.
This does not affect any statutory right you have that cannot lawfully be excluded. If consumer law where you live gives you a stronger right than this page does, that law applies.
What cancelling changes
Nothing on your own devices. Your books, notes and reading positions stay where they are, and Tidemarks keeps working as a reader without an account.
On the server, the account’s sync limit returns to three books: the three you have read most recently keep syncing, and the rest are frozen. A frozen book is not deleted — our copy is kept for 24 months, it stops accepting changes, and a connected agent can no longer read it. Resubscribe within that time and those books come back with whatever you did on each device while they were frozen. See the privacy policy for what is stored and for how long.
Before you cancel, you can also export everything from the account pane in the reader. The epub in that export is the file you imported, unchanged.
Who to ask for what
Paddle is the merchant of record for every purchase — see the terms of service — so invoices, receipts, tax questions and chargebacks are Paddle’s, and its support is at paddle.net.
Refunds are ours to agree and Paddle’s to pay out, which is why the 14 days above are asked for by writing to us rather than through Paddle. Those 14 days are something we offer on top of Paddle’s own policy; they do not replace it, and neither replaces a right the law gives you.
Anything about Tidemarks itself is ours: contact@tidemarks.io. If you are not sure which it is, write to us and we will sort it out.
